North Carolina has a plan to change the way Medicaid pays for mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services. The change is known as the 1915(b)/(c) Medicaid Waiver. The goal of the change is to make sure that people needing help are able to easily get high quality services. East Carolina Behavioral Health (ECBH) will make the change on April 1, 2012. The information on this page explains the waiver and tells why NC and ECBH want to make this change. The information also tells consumers, families, providers and others what this change may mean for them.
